Our client in the Pasadena, TX area is hiring for an experienced Freight Broker to add to their expanding team!



THIS IS A DIRECT HIRE OPPORTUNITY WITH A SALARY RANGE OF $70K-$85K/YEAR PLUS BONUS!!



Essential duties and responsibilities for the Logistics Freight Broker role include:



  • Cover freight by leveraging carrier relationships and working load boards;

  • Negotiate rates with shippers and carriers;

  • Coordinate the shipment from dispatch to on-time delivery;

  • Provide best in class customer service to both shippers and carriers;

  • Proactively identify and resolve issues using critical thinking skills;

  • Solicit business from current and prospective customers;

  • Research and understand market trends; and

  • Develop an internal brokerage division.



Key areas for the experienced Logistics Freight Broker are as followed:



  • Loads tendered;

  • Revenue generation;

  • Carrier development; and

  • Margin development.



Requirements for the Logistics Freight Broker include:



  • Five (5) to ten (10) years of experience in a freight brokerage, preferably management role;

  • Ability to thrive in a deadline-based, team environment;

  • Understanding of truck transportation/logistics;

  • Outstanding communication skills, verbal and written;

  • Effectively copes with change and is energized by tough challenges;

  • Strong problem solving capabilities and timely decision making;

  • Self-starter that is highly motivated to be successful; and

  • Ability to conduct business development and sales calls.
